Hours as required in consultation with the rota administrator but typically two hours on a Friday morning. This is an open-ended arrangement, with a 3-month trial period.

• Ensure food deliveries are made safely and to the correct address
• Ensure all food safety and hygiene protocols are followed
• Treat food bank clients with dignity and respect
• To treat personal data/address details of clients securely and in the strictest confidence
• To observe the food bank’s rules for delivery to homes (as will be explained during your induction)

• Drivers must hold a current/valid driving licence and in-date vehicle tax, as well as appropriate insurance for making volunteer deliveries.

Hours as required in consultation with the team leader/food bank Depot Manager and according to the packing rota. This is an open-ended arrangement, with a 3-month trial period. 

Packing takes place on Thursday afternoons.

• Ensure food parcels are packed and labelled according to the Packing List provided
• Add re-referral slips to applicable bags as indicated on the Packing List
• Leave completed parcels, clearly identified, at the specific location in the Depot ready for the Delivery Teams to collect
• Ensure any food shortages or excesses are communicated so that appropriate action can be taken
• Keep the Depot clean and tidy, internally and externally, with rubbish placed in the bins provided
• Inform the Depot Manager of any issues, whether regarding safety, procedural or relating to the Depot building

Sorting & Stacking takes place on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. 

• Ensure donated items are sorted and stacked in the Depot according to type and date order
• Keeping the Depot clean and tidy, internally and externally, with rubbish placed in the bins provided
• Report any food shortages or excesses to your team leader or Depot Manager, so action can be taken
• Dispose of any out-of-date items as instructed
• Inform the Depot Manager of any issues, whether regarding safety, procedural or relating to the Depot building

Hours as required in consultation with the food bank Depot Manager and supermarket or collection point. This is an open-ended arrangement, with a 3-month trial period.

• Collecting food and essentials donated to key collection points in Sherborne and surrounding areas.
• Own transport with valid driving licence, vehicle tax and appropriate insurance is a necessity. This could be shared transport if you are volunteering with another person.
• Applicants should be willing to undergo any required training for the role.
