As a Volunteer Communication Lead your will be responsible for telling the story of Sherborne Food Bank and ensuring that our messages reach the right people. This key Communications Role would suit a local marketing and PR professional. This is considered a very good growth role. It will help continue to build our profile, strengthen relationships and encourage more people to get involved, donate and support our mission.Â

The role reports directly to the Chair of Trustees but works very closely with the board of Trustees, Executive members and wider volunteer base.

Time commitment is flexible however an average 4 hours per week should be sufficient to keep the wheels turning, with additional hours if/when event planning or attending meetings.
- Develop and deliver communications strategies and plans
- Help manage our website, social media and email communications
- Create engaging content (newsletters, stories, updates and reports)
- Build positive relationships with local media and community partners
- Promote campaigns, events and fundraising activities.
- Ensure our messing is consistent, inclusive and impact focused
- Monitor and evaluate communication activity
